BANANA NUT CARAMEL FRENCH TOAST
-
20' minutes
Ingredients
- 4 - 5 Eggs
- 1 – 1¼ Cup of Milk
- Butter
- Salt to Taste
- Vanilla Extract
- Chopped Walnuts
- Banana Slices
- Caramel Sauce
Tips
1. Make the Custard
In a bowl, whisk together:
Eggs
Milk
Vanilla extract
Salt
Mix until smooth and well combined.
2. Coat the Brioche
Dip each brioche slice into the custard, making sure both sides are fully soaked but not falling apart.
3. Cook the French Toast
Heat a skillet over medium‑high heat.
Add enough butter to coat the pan.
Cook the custard‑soaked brioche for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked to your preferred doneness.
While the slices cook, slice the bananas and chop the walnuts so they’re ready for assembly.
4. Let the Toast Rest
Allow the cooked French toast slices to rest for 1–2 minutes before stacking—this helps keep the toppings from melting too quickly.
5. Assemble the Stack
Stack 2–3 slices of French toast, adding between each layer:
A few banana slices
A drizzle of caramel sauce
6. Add Final Toppings
Finish your stack with:
More banana slices
A generous drizzle of caramel sauce
A sprinkling of chopped walnuts
Optional: a pinch of flaky sea salt for a salted‑caramel twist
7. Serve
Enjoy warm while the caramel is gooey, the bananas are soft, and the walnuts add the perfect crunch.
